I have experienced a couple of disappointments lately.

I submitted a magazine article recently for a magazine I have been published in three times before.  I thought the article was important, and well written.  I thought my chances for publication were good.  But the deadline for publication came and went last week, so it looks like my article will not appear in the September issue.

I recently submitted an application for a professional affiliation.  I worked hard on it, and did a lot of networking.  I thought I had a good chance to be accepted.  But I received their decline recently.

A wise lady I know talks a lot about prayer.  She suggests that we ask God for answers to our prayers.

She also notes that sometimes the answer to our prayers will be no.
